The Great Inns of Britain to feature in two new recipe books

6 Apr 10
This spring, The Great Inns of Britain were delighted to host co-authors J.C Jeremy Hobson and Philip Watts, who are presently researching and writing two new cook books – Rabbit Cook and Pigeon Cook.

Having contacted The Great Inns last autumn, after reading about the Great Inns seasonal ‘Game On’ food campaign, the authors recently enjoyed a bespoke tour of several Great Inns to sample and photograph some fabulous dishes that use pigeon and rabbit as key ingredients. The recipes, stories and images collected along the way will feature in the forthcoming cook books.

The Great Inns were delighted to be involved in the projects, which help to raise awareness of the excellent seasonal game on offer in the UK, of which, the Great Inns support.

It is anticipated that the recipe books will be published by Crowood Press between the end of 2010 and early 2011. We will keep you updated about how to order a copy.

Here’s a little bit about the co-authors:
J.C Jeremy Hobson is a freelance writer now living in France. Prior to this he was employed in shoot management for over thirty years. Since 1976, he has written regularly for many of the UK's countryside and sporting press and has had numerous books published.

Philip Watts started his working life as a national newspaper sub-editor and then moved into advertising. His successful career as a marketing director led to a desire not just to commission pictures but to take them. Love of food - and strong views as to how it should be photographed - generated a keen interest in assimilating pictures designed to inspire cooks to experiment with new dishes and creative ways of presenting them as mouth-watering 'art on a plate'.
