Being part of a family company with a 200 year heritage gives us unique access to some of the finest ‘brewing’ brains in the UK. And we’re delighted to be able to give you an opportunity to gain a very personal insight in to the world of Daniel Thwaites at our ‘Meet the Brewer’ weekends hosted at The Millstone.

Numbers are strictly limited at these intimate events, where you’ll be able to visit the brewery for private guided tour, sample our award-winning range of traditional beers and enjoy an educational afternoon with Ian Bearpark, one of the Brewery Directors, and his team. As it’s the Millstone, no visit would be complete without some delicious food prepared including a dinner matched with carefully selected ales for each course.

You’ll find full information at millstonehotel.co.uk or call us on 01254 813333 to make your booking.

Friday

Lancashire’s finest.

7pm - Depart for a private tour of the Brewery – transport included – and a traditional Lancashire supper.

Saturday
Rise and shine to a full and hearty traditional English breakfast – well worth getting up for. There’s time to explore some of the great foodie places nestling in the Ribble Valley (ask us about the Ribble Valley Food Trail) or head out to the region’s legendary mill shops where there great bargains all year round.

On Saturday afternoon there’s a unique opportunity to spend 3 hours with some of the finest brewing brains in the country as Ian Bearpark (brewery director) and his team will host an informal but very educational ‘at home’. A great chance to learn more about the science (and art) of brewing beer using centuries old recipes and methods. It’s an interactive session and very hands-on with the opportunity to taste and test all the ingredients as well as the finished article.

Saturday evening’s dinner will be a bespoke 5 course menu – where Anson Bolton, our Chef Patron, will create dishes carefully matched to some of the finest ales and featuring local and seasonal Lancashire produce throughout.

Sunday
An opportunity to buy Thwaites’ award-winning beers at preferential prices before you head home full of knowledge and enthusiasm for The Northern Brewery.
